Someone Like Adele

Thanks to another blog with great tips, I now know how to wear my hair for my next night out! And because it’s Friday, I may have to do just that! Singing sensations like Adele, the soulful singer who’s heart pours into every song, have something about them that you can’t help but admire. She also has a very sixties vibe that makes her style and demeanor absolutely irresistible! So with help from The Beauty Department, I’m going to pair the Pavlova Top in pink, with a fantastic pair of shoes, dark wash pants and this fantastic voluminous hair!

Feel Like a Pretty Woman!

We’re not just talking about any feeling, but Pretty Woman pretty! When you can walk down the street and know that you look like a million bucks. Only here at Pink Martini, we don’t need Richard Gere to buy overly expensive clothes for us. We’ve got the goods in the form of our Marissa Romper (and not at a “ridiculous amount of money” price)!

This flowing romper is light and breezy and drapes on the body amazingly! Spring and Summer heat will be no match for this perfect outfit. Throw on flats or sandals and a straw hat to match (like Julia’s!) the Marissa Romper and continue shopping (or window shopping)on Rodeo Drive (or wherever you happen to be). Who knows, maybe your day will have a Pretty Woman moment!

Topping it Off With a Trench

Trudging through slush and having a need for rain boots instead of those stylish, leather boots or perfect flats never seemed so “okay” with the idea of Spring upon us! Sure, another month of bad weather may ensue, but at least we have the hopeful thoughts of perfect Trench Coats and casual slacks to keep us going. I’ve already paired together my first, “decent weather,” Pink Martini look for Spring 2012!

This soft pink ‘Carmella’ blouse adds feminine charm to any look, perfect for a day out! While paired with casual ‘Perry Pant’ trousers, this look steps it up a notch and will be a comfortably stylish ensemble for work! Throw the navy ‘Tracey Trench’ on top and the glorious spring weather will be yours for the taking!

Spring = Weddings

Can you believe it, we are getting ready to start shipping Spring 2012 and today is the first day this Winter that it has really felt like Winter in Toronto. I’ll just blame it on Friday the 13th bringing this horrible weather. But, since Spring is going to be in full swing in our office in a few days, there is nothing more that reminds me of Spring and Summer than weddings. I have been spying on this photographer’s blog for a while and she has, hands down, the most beautiful and creative wedding photos I have ever seen. I love all of these ideas for weddings, especially the omelet bar. If you have an hour or so to kill, go and look at all of Jill Thomas’ photos, they are all incredible. Here are a few of my favourites..

Winter Looks of the Week

As Christmas is inching closer and closer, snow should be on it’s way as well (even though we haven’t really experienced more than a few minutes of snowfall here and there as of yet). The cold weather got me thinking about winter style, and Lookbook.nu is in my opinion one of the best ways to keep up with what is going on the world of street style. Here are my fav winter looks this week – it’s all about the oversized knits.

Autumn Wipe-Out by Anastasia S in Jarkarta

Even though Jakarta probably isn’t seeing much snow right now either (especially since it’s a balmy 39 degrees C there right now), I am still loving everything about this look. Native inspired anything and Jeffrey Campbell shoes are fashion’s it-girl right now. I’m sure there are many shoe boxes of Lita’s under Christmas trees all over the globe right now.

If You Surrender… by Erika H from Stockholm

Nothing says winter like a fur hat and fur boots. This is probably my go-to look for winter – leggings and a chic knit sweater, comfy AND warm.

Baby It’s Cold Outside by Tonya S from Octopus’ Garden (what!)

And last but not least, this fab look combining a little bit of vintage, a little bit of new, a little bit of neutrals, and a lot of awesome. Perfect for the cold weather and very put together.
