Summer picnics are undeniably one of the best parts about the season. Packing up your favourite snacks, cutest dress and heading to the park to enjoy the sunshine is always so exciting. Now imagine if you had a delicious and refreshing drink to make everything even better! Try our DIY Watermelon Granita!!
This is the type of drink that almost doubles as a snack too. One taste and you are transported to the shores of Capri in the most luxurious resort. Its super easy to make and is perfect for small or large get-togethers.
What you need:
– 1 Lemon
– Glass or Jar
Cut your watermelon into chucks or slices and put them in the freezer overnight. This is the best way to avoid using ice cubes, and it also preserves all the sweetness (which will help you use a lot less sugar!)
Put your frozen pieces of watermelon into the blender and add a bit of lemon and a teaspoon of sugar. BLEND and taste. Test to see if you want to add more lemon or sugar as you go. It all depends on how sweet your watermelon is and how sweet you want it to be.
Pour your granita into glasses, and add a couple of mint leaves on top for presentation. Serve with spoons to make it super easy to eat. Grab your other snacks and you’re set!
