ICYMI: Five things we loved this week
Below are five pieces of online fashion content that we loved this week.
Pajama party: Incredibly chic starlet Emma Watson proved that with the right attitude (and accessories) you can pull anything off, when she was photographed wearing striped lounge pants (and looking like a total boss) at LAX.
Mini bloggers: Over at Racked, Stephie Grob Plante talked to a promising young blogger poised to change the fashion landscape – and we do mean YOUNG! Instagram star and fashion blogger London Scout is a “three-year-old tastemaker.” What’s life like for a kid in the spotlight? Does her blog actually make money? And just how influential could a toddler actually be? All of these questions are addressed in this fascinating feature.
Get shelfie-ready: If you love fashion, you’ll devour these 10 must-read fashion books. They’ll teach you everything from how to dress like an elderly style-star to what life’s really like at Vogue.
Global beauty: Fashionista writer Cheryl Wischhover approached the editors of some of Marie Claire’s dozens of international editions with a simple question: who are your country’s beauty icons? Unsurprisingly, Beyonce’s popular all around the world, but some of the answers were pretty unexpected. Who knew Chinese women were so into Sophie Marceau? And we discovered a new (to us) beauty icon in South Africa’s media personality Noni Gasa. With her oft-shaved head and gorgeous freckles, her look is totally one-of-a-kind.
Instant confidence-boost: As the folks at Who What Wear put it, “your wardrobe has limitless potential as an ally in the cause to feel like your best self.” Choosing the right clothes, in other words, can make you feel awesome. The fashion site gave some tricks for dressing in a way that will make you feel empowered, including choosing great shapewear and owning a flattering, easy-to-wear dress that you can throw on and go. (For the latter, we love our Moxie Dress in Red, pictured below).
