Below are five moments of fashion from across the internet that we loved this week.
Bizarre bride: J. Crew’s spring 2015 bridal collection features sequined bridal track shorts. “A lot of modern brides are always looking for something that will allow them to take a risk and be unique at their weddings but still keep that timeless aesthetic,” explains the label’s director of wedding design, Molly Schaul. Really, timeless? The shorts are $450 while the matching racerback top will cost you $400.
Modern moguls: Fashionista released its 2015 ranking of the most influential style bloggers, taking into account social media followings, brand extensions, web traffic, Google news searches and expert opinions. At the very top of the list is Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad. The 27-year-old L.A.-transplant has more than 3 million Instagram followers. Also on the list were Kristina Bazan of Kayture (who also made our list of the top street style looks of 2014), Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast, and Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl.
Braid parade: We scoured Pinterest (our job’s pretty fun) to find 10 tutorials for braided hairstyles that look great but also doable. Our fave is Missy Sue’s double Dutch merged side braid (which is less complex than it sounds!).
Street style predictions: Fashionista peered into the near future to predict what street style stars will be wearing at fashion week (beginning in just a few days!). Their guesses include rainbow-striped pieces from Valentino’s 2015 resort collection, graphic clutches and Preen’s crazy fox fur hat, pictured below. We can’t wait to see if they’re right.
Advanced beauty: Refinery29’s editors shared the best beauty secrets their grandmothers ever shared with them. They range from the wacky (“dye your hair red until you literally enter the ground”) to the wise (use moisturizer every night and exercise) to the super sweet (“The most important thing you can do to look and feel your most beautiful is SMILE”).
