ICYMI: Five things we loved this week
Below are five moments of fashion that we loved this week from across the internet.
Style school: Refinery 29 put together a slideshow of 70 London street-style looks that killed it, along with the style lessons they teach. An example: “Go big (in the jacket), go bold (with print on print). Or, go home to get your big jacket and bold prints.” We especially love look 21, a very ladylike dress hitting just above the ankle, and look 35, a girl mixing gingham and stripes like a pro.
Fast forward to fall: This week, Fashionista showed readers how to style looks inspired by the fall 2015 runways – because it’s never too early to start planning next season’s wardrobe! If you’ve ever wondered how to wear transparent pants or a fur stole, this article’s for you.
Blog star: We interviewed stylist and fashion blogger Ofelia Liu of Glass of Fashion. She shared her love of Emma Stone’s style and the TV show Hart of Dixie, along with some real talk. Here’s one of the pearls of wisdom she dropped on us: “When going out for delicious food, always wear something stretchy. Oh, and a statement watch, of course.”
Mini models: OK, this one’s kind of weird. To advertise its new fitness tracker, the Withings Activité Pop, French wearables company Withings recruited pint-sized lookalikes of Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss and Twiggy to re-enact famous ad campaigns. We’re weirdly jealous of tiny Cara’s shiny hair.
Michelin Man chic: The weather was way below zero in Toronto this week, so we feel like this article written for xoJane by Kelly Dougher, titled “How to Look Like a Stylish, Non-Frumpy Person When Wearing a Puffy Coat,” was written just for us. Dougher recommends pairing your giant, heavy-duty coat with bright lipstick and dark-wash skinny jeans.
