It’s indisputable that the Met Ball always has the best red carpet ever, and this year was no exception. The theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass,” which some stars fully embraced, while others did their own thing. Pretty much everyone looked so fantastic that we had a hard time narrowing this list down to 10 looks. (So we sort of didn’t. You’ll see when you get to number one!)
Here are the best outfits on the 2015 Met Ball red carpet:
10. Jennifer Lawrence
J-Law looks gorgeous as always. A cutout dress + a statement necklace = flawless.
Rihanna’s look was super controversial. Some on the Pink Martini team loved it, others hated it with a passion. One thing’s for sure – it’s cool that she wore a dress by a Chinese couturier, Guo Pei.
8. Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker went all out, and we love it. That headpiece is dramatic and beautiful – but how much did it weigh? We’re concerned for poor SJP’s neck!
7. Karen Elson
Supermodel Karen Elson stuns in this princessy gown. We’ve always loved a full skirt.
6. Joan Smalls
Model Joan Smalls sizzles in this alluring dress. She manages to look both sexy and sophisticated, and that regal shade of purple perfectly complements her skin tone.
5. Sienna Miller
Who says you have to wear a gown to look red-carpet glamorous? Sienna Miller looks every bit the superstar she is in this sparkling suit.
4. Dianna Agron
Dianna Agron shows that you don’t need to dress wildly to make an impression at the Met Ball. Her bird-print gown gives a nod to the evening’s theme, while its classic silhouette makes her look like an old-Hollywood star.
If anyone wasn’t obsessed with attaining Beyonce’s toned, curvy bod before, they sure are now! Beyonce shows why she’s our ultimate fitspiration in this gorgeous, revealing dress. Could anyone but Queen Bey pull this off? Probably not.
2. Imogen Poots
English actress Imogen Poots looks like a gorgeous Victorian-era doll in this lovely lacey dress. And her pink makeup is so on point.
1. Brie Larson, Courtney Eaton and Annabelle Wallis
We’re splitting the number-one spot between these three actresses. They’re all wearing the same designer (Dolce & Gabanna), so we can count this perfectly clad trio’s outfits as one look, right? Their gorgeous ensembles prove that if there’s anywhere ornate is in, it’s the Met Ball. But is it weird that we kind of want to dress like this every day?
Dress for your own red-carpet moment (yes, your BFF’s birthday party counts!) with our Nora Dress in Black. This stunner does double duty: it totally works for a formal event, but you can also wear it during the day with flat sandals.
