The top fall 2015 shoe trends

Swapping out our flip flops for our fave pair of boots isn’t the only shoe transition we’ll be making this fall. Fashion girls the world over will be making room in their closets for these hot fall 2015 shoe trends, straight from the top runway shows.

Patchwork:

Salvatore Ferragamo

This folksy style pairs perfectly with fall’s boho pieces. At Fendi, we saw 1970s-inspired patchwork ankle boots in neutral shades, while the patchwork boots at Just Cavalli were all about the bold colours. Salvatore Ferragamo took a more abstract view of the trend, with high-heeled sandals made from strips of different leathers.

Wear them with a bohemian prairie dress, like our Little House on the Prairie Dress in Navy.

Fur:

Fur’s not just for coats anymore! The fuzzy fabric adorned all sorts of shoes at fashion week, from slingbacks at Dolce & Gabbana to polar-bearesque booties at Fendi to shoes that frankly look a bit like long-haired guinea pigs at Gucci. Feel free to go as crazy (or not) as you want with this particular trend – the sky’s the limit!

Wear them with a sleek pair of trousers, like our Still the One Pants in Charcoal.

Menswear:

Way more comfortable than stilettos! Menswear-inspired shoes were the hottest thing at the fall shows. The oxfords at Banana Republic were a vintage-inspired vision in colour-blocked black and white, while Junya Watanabe showed off an edgier spiked look. Our personal fave is the gingham brogues at Simone Rocha – gingham’s going to be one of the hottest trends next spring, so you can be on trend while also being ahead of the times.

Wear them with a dress that’s girly but not fussy, like our Hey Jude Dress in Grey/Yellow.

No. 21

No. 21

These aren’t the plain black Mary Janes you wore in elementary school. Fall 2015’s designers took an experimental tack when it comes to this classic style. Dolce & Gabbana’s burgundy velvet MJs were like something out of Clueless, with Miu Miu showing a more reptilian version of the trend. No. 21 was the most avant-garde, adding Mary Jane-style straps to a textured red ankle boot.

Wear them with a wool miniskirt, like our Sweet Caroline Skirt in Light Grey.
