Woman Crush Wednesday: Olivia Palermo

Socialite/professional beautiful person Olivia Palermo rose to fame in 2009 when she was cast on MTV reality show The City. Since then, her gigs have included fashion blogging, launching a jewelry collection, and appearing as a guest judge on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. But what we really know her for is her supreme street style. Olivia is the queen of casual chic. Her expert accessorizing skills can make jeans look like couture.

Here are her five best looks of all time:

1. At an after party for the premiere of Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston, April 2010

Talk about a great LBD! We love the detailing on this dress. And she’s accessorized it perfectly with a gold cuff, a black bag with splashes of bold pink, and simple black pumps.

2. In New York, May 2013

We wish we looked this great running errands (or ever)! Olivia is great at layering. We want to take a page from her book and try a floral blazer and graphic sweater over a button-down. A pair of menswear-style brogues complete the look.

3. In New York, December 2013

Who knew red skinnies and high top sneakers could look so chic? We’re not sure if the fuzzy green boa is attached to the coat or not, but either way it’s perfection.

4. At a preview of the Marchesa Voyage for ShopStyle collection, September 2014

Olivia Palermo

Denim on denim never looked so good! We’re pretty sure we threw out all of our denim pencil skirts 5-10 years ago, but this makes us want to buy another one. The unbuttoned top and the slit in the skirt create a harmonizing balance.

5. At the Monica Vinader store launch party, December 2014

The skirt is definitely a statement, but we think Lady Liv pulls it off by keeping the rest of the outfit simple and black and white – minus that fun purse!

To be a street style star like Olivia, you need a paparazzi-worthy topper. We recommend our NYC Lights Coat. Its tricolour palette is attention- grabbing, but it’s classic enough that it won’t compete with the rest of your outfit – even if you channel Miss Palermo with a bright orange skirt!
