The best fall 2015 makeup trends
It may still be too warm to wear all of the latest fall fashions (although you can still wear some transitional weather-friendly pieces!), but it’s never too early to trade in your dewy spring makeup looks for some vamped –up fall statement beauty. Here are the latest fall 2015 makeup trends, straight from fashion week’s hottest runways. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to try them!
Trade in spring/summer’s bronzed skin for something a bit more fall-friendly. The cheeks at top shows like Donna Karan, Jason Wu and Michael Kors featured cheeks in warm shades of rose and peach. This trend looks beautiful on all complexions, and it’s probably the most day-time friendly of the fall 2015 makeup trends.
Wear it with something sweet, like our Flirty in Floral Top in Beige.
Sparkly eye makeup:
Shine on, bright star. The blinged-out eye makeup at fall’s shows is made for girls who want to stand out on the crowded dance floor. Rodarte and Temperley London made use of chunky 3D glitter, while Mara Hoffman produced the most wearable version of this look with subtly shimmering gold lids.
Wear it with something bold and glitzy, like our Dancing Queen Top in Black/Silver.
Dark, gothic lips:
The nineties goth look is back, but this is a definite step up from that girl at your junior high who used to put eyeliner pencil on her lips. Emmanuel Ungaro was a study in contrasts, with deep, near-black lips juxtaposed against a fresh face and beachy waves. The lipstick at Giles was inky onyx and slightly glossy. At Marc Jacobs, the model’s pouts were the most wearable version of this trend – a rich, dark purple.
Wear it with something vampy and glamorous, like our Voulez-Vous Jacket in Black/Silver.
Deconstructed cat eyes:
Last season’s cat eye liner has gotten even more experimental. Think casual, double flicks of liner at Anna Sui and Mugler – kind of like you tried to do your cat eye a few times and failed, but, like, pretty – and super chunky lines at the outer edges of the lid at Suno. The best part of this look is that you could basically do your eyeliner drunk (or while half-asleep immediately after waking up) and pass it off as purposely trendy and avant garde – lazy girl win!
