The most WTF makeup at London Fashion Week SS16

If New York Fashion Week’s makeup looks are any indication, next season we’ll all be wearing subtle makeup with the occasional smokey eye or pop of blue eye shadow. If we’re going by the makeup at London Fashion Week, however, come spring we’ll all look like (very fashion-forward) alien clowns.

Here’s the most WTF makeup at London Fashion Week:

A little WTF

Le Kilt

The eighties called, and they’re like “WHY MUST YOU REPEAT OUR MISTAKES?”

Emilio de la Morena

Okay, as WTF as purple lips are, you know some fashion blogger’s going to take this look and own it.

Mary Katrantzou

We never thought we’d see coloured mascara come back at all, let alone worn only at the centre of the eye. Very creepy doll.

Seriously, WTF?

Toga

Ah, yes. Orange around the eye. Perfect for that “raging allergies” look.

Marques’Almeida

This look screams “I’m contagious! No, seriously! Stay away!”

Ashish

Okay, not lying: we love this look and will attempt to try it at the soonest possible occasion. Just maybe not, like, at work Monday morning.

WHY?

Thomas Tait

Forget what we said about the eyes at Mary Katrantzou – THIS is the real creepy doll look. We know the UK’s the home of Twiggy and all, but this is a bit extreme.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label

We’d expect nothing less from Vivienne Westwood, Queen of Punk.

Gareth Pugh

Gareth Pugh dug deep into the uncanny valley to transform models into mannequin-like creatures. The look was achieved by covering their faces in gauze and painting over it. You know, if you want to try it at home.
